K2 Awarded Safety Act Designation for Single Purpose Explosives Detection Canine Handling Teams
Southern Pines, N.C. (December 18, 2017) – K2 Solutions, Inc. is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) SAFETY Act Designation for Single Purpose Explosives Detection Canine Handler Teams.
The SAFETY Act Designation demonstrates K2’s continued commitment to providing cargo-screening solutions for airlines, freight forwarders, and other logistics companies within the supply chain. K2 Single-Purpose Canines are trained to detect bulk and trace amounts of 22 different explosives odors. They are environmentally sound and work to source with intense focus. K2 canines can screen skids (pallets) more effectively, reliably, and more quickly than traditional methods to reduce the number of man-hours and resources needed under the current requirements.
This SAFETY Act Designation, combined with our 2016 SAFETY Act Developmental Testing and Evaluation Designation make K2 the only U.S. provider of both Single Purpose and Person Borne™ Explosives Detection Canine Handler Teams with SAFETY Act liability protection. K2 specializes in canine security screening services, with a focus in explosives detection in support of critical cargo, high profile events and facilities, and overseas facilities in areas of high threat or high risk.
